Imogen Cunningham
- Imogen Cunningham:
- Born April 12, 1883
- Died June 24, 1976
- She was best known for her botanical photography, nudes, and industrial landscapes.
- Cunningham used negative printing, solarization, double exposure and other unconventional processes to produce images.
- Cunningham opened a portrait studio in 1910, in 1932 she joined the association of West Coast photographers known a Group f.64. In the early 1930s she also worked for Vanity Fair and produced images of entertainers and celebrities. After Group f.64 broke up she ran a portrait gallery and taught at several California arts schools.
- - 4x5 view camera (1923-1928)
- - 4x5 Revolving back Graflex with an 8 inch Tessar lens (1925-1976)
- - Super Ikonta B (1936-1946)
- Cunningham studied at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she developed an interest in photography.
- The things I like about Cunninghams work is her sharp and clean pictures of plant life, also because it's in black and white which creates a pleasing effect and a different view of plant life.
